The Start of a Big Girl Bed

So this weekend we went out and bought Mikaiya a mattress for her big girl bed. Her furniture has been on order for a month or so now and was supposed to be here by now, but it got back ordered until mid-May. We wanted to be sure she was ready to give up her toddler bed (which is going back to a crib for the baby) well before the baby would come, so we decided to get her a mattress and just set in on her floor. She had a great time helping get it set up in her room:

We took her out and let her pick out her own bedding. Here's what she picked:

The sheets sold it for her since they have little hearts on them. We were actually pretty surprised, because we let her pick between this one and one that had butterflies and flowers on it. We both thought she'd pick the butterflies and flowers (which was much less pink!!), but nope, she went straight for the pink with the hearts on it. Here's the comforter that goes with the sheets:

She is sooooo excited to go to sleep in it. Wish us luck with her first night! Here she is all ready for bed in her very first big girl bed!
