Easter At Home

We spent Easter Sunday home relaxing this year.  We did a lot to prepare for the Easter bunny though.  The girls decorated eggs and we learned that rub on tattoo's are not a good choice of egg decorating supplies...one would think the Paas decorating people would have figured that out!  Here are the two angels coloring their eggs:

We had to improvise on decorating, so markers and foam stickers it was!

On the Saturday of Easter weekend, we were invited to a friend's to share in their Easter celebration.  They had a HUGE Easter egg hunt and the kids got a ton of eggs!

Easter morning both girls were excited to find their Easter baskets.  Braenna found one of hers right away:

Then both girls found these baskets.  The Easter bunny may have gone a little overboard this year as all of their stuff did not fit in a single basket each!

They found lots of eggs:

And finally, Mikaiya found her basket.  It was behind the pillow she had been laying on while on the couch!  That sneaky Easter bunny!

We even managed to get the girls back in their Easter dresses for a photo shoot.  This is one of my favorites:

Family Easter

We celebrated Easter this year with the family at the Breunig's house.  Their first official holiday as a married couple!  They have a nice yard for an Easter egg hunt and the girls all had a blast!

Here are the three girls hanging out

Ready, set, GO!  And they're off!  Braenna and Mikaiya needed some help from Grammy to find some eggs:

Mikaiya was pretty self sufficient.  We had to direct her to the more difficult eggs.

They got a lot of eggs and had a blast sorting through them all.
 It was a fun Easter!

March 2012

March was an extra busy month here for us this year. We had some AMAZING warm weather and after winter, we were all anxious to get outside! It was a busy, busy month! The girls got to try out some of their new outdoor toys from Christmas. Braenna loves here new roller blades!

Mikaiya has been practicing hard at riding her bike. We had to upgrade sooner than planned due to the warm weather, so she got an early birthday present! She's so tall that her knees were almost hitting the handlebars on her old bike. The new one looks big, but she is handling it well and quite the pro on 2 wheels now!It was even warm enough to have a picnic one Sunday...in shorts and t-shirts...in WI...in MARCH! Hard to believe! The girls had a blast though!

This is one of my favorites. If I can ever get some photo editing software on my computer again, I will have to turn it black and white and frame it! They are too sweet eating their lunch together and looking out on the pond.
Jeff also got a new bike this spring and he is having a good time riding! A friend at work let us have their trailer bike, which attaches to his bike, so that Braenna can come along on bike rides too! And she LOVES it back there!!
We had a really nice month! In addition to all of this outside time, Jeff and I got to get away on a little visit to Milwaukee. We stayed downtown right next to Lake Michigan, hung out at the casino and toured the city. We had a really nice time! Thanks to Grammy for taking on the munchkins for us!

Mikaiya's 6th Birthday Party

We had Mikaiya's birthday party right at the start of her Spring Break this year. Here she is all ready for her big birthday party that we had on March 31st. She is smiling as always even though she was a little under the weather for her party day:

Here she is with her cake at the bowling alley. She had 12 of her little friends in attendance.

Here she is blowing out her birthday candles with a couple of her closest friends (Natalie and Ellie). It's super cute to see what great new friends she has made since we moved here. Both of these girls were in her daycare/4K class and she is still very close to both of them.

Overall, the party was a success! Mikaiya has great friends and she had a great time bowling and being the center of attention for the day!

Kalahari Water Park Trip

We took a last minute impromptu trip to the Kalahari water park in the Wisconsin Dells at the beginning of March. This was the girl's first trip to somewhere besides Great Wolf and it turns out they loved it (suprise!). Here are the girls posing outside the water park in the lobby area:

The kids area at the indoor waterpark was really great. There was tons for the kids to do and we could easily see them from the comfort of a chair. Best part? No parents allowed on the structure (unless under 100 lbs, and we don't qualify!). It was fun to just watch them play though! Here they are looking too cute in their new swimwear:
There is also a HUGE indoor theme park. Braenna wanted to ride on the swings:
And Mikaiya went for the boat:
After a long day at the water park, Braenna was tired:
Overall we had a great time and hope to be able to return again sometime soon. Everytime a Kalahari commercial comes on the radio they girls yell out "Kalahari! We want to go!" I guess it was a hit!
